How to get your wife hooked on *insert random anime of choice*

Show her Apocalyptica's I don't care (with that Three Days Grace singer) and lots of purty scenes with bad guys and repeat until brainwash is completed.

Death Note here we come! *cackles*

Now lets watch that amv just one more time. ;p

Taking a break from school work (having to wait for the library to get my books ready is always a good excuse ;p) and being too bored to do anything else, I've re-watched the intro to 'The Devil wears Prada'. And was hit by sudden revelation.
I'm such a city girl. -.-
As much as I adore and also need nature and loathe people, seeing the streets-scene and thinking of how we're having it here in Basel and how it was to cruise through Bern last weekend... No, I really couldn't live somewhere out in the nowhere. I'd go insane!
I love it to just go around the corner to a bakery and pick up some little snack and a coffee. Or go to Namamen or for sushi whenever we feel like it (and can afford it). Or stroll through the small back-alleys and find beautiful buildings and sceneries we haven't discovered yet. Or go to the botanical garden. Or just browse along the book-store whenever the fancy strikes. Or have the option to go to a café or the cinemas or a museum or whatever else if we suddenly feel like it.
The thought of being stuck in a little cow-town where I'd need a car to be somewhat independent and where the neighbours are sticking the nose into everything and anything makes me want to run faaaaar away.

I guess my ideal life would be to have some little cottage out in the woods or up a mountain or at a remote lakeside where we could spend the weekends and holidays or where we could just go to whenever we need some calm and want to get away from people, but for the actual everyday life not be further away from a nice city than the suburbs.
But then again, we're two in this and if my sweetie suddenly decides that she'd love to live the country life, I'd definitely give it a try. It's her after all who'd have to put up with an even more insane and easily bored wife. ;p

... because honestly, I have better things to do than watch monkeys dance around and the outcome of it seems so obvious and unstoppable anyway.

However, there was a comment here that sums up so perfectly what I really despise when it comes to Palin (and people like her):

Here, here.
Why does she illicit the anger in me? Her "hunting", "mavericking", "hockey/PTA-moming", is so transparent.
No true hunter chases animals down in a private plane.
Mavericking isn't firing State government leaders who don't fire her sister's husband.
If she wants to be ruthless, be ruthless. If she doesn't, then don't. But, don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining, because it's not.

Fact is, if she actually really were ruthless, I'd at least respect her for that. Certainly not for her politics and POVs, but at least for that. It might sound sick but I'm of the opinion that we need more ruthless women for the view on the female part of the population to finally change.
But she isn't ruthless (to be fair, she also doesn't want those views to change so it fits, I guess). And so I really don't know if I can even say that I hate her or that she scares be because either would require some sort of respect from my side. No, I just despise and pity her.

Woohoohoo!!!
Just got the confirmation that I can take part in the museum-practical course next term!!! :DDD
Don't really need the credit points (have more than enough already O.o) and it terrifies me like crazy (hell, speaking in front of "classmates" and visitors) but I really, really hoped I'd get in anyway. It's a great chance to learn something about a potential future working place and it's always a good thing to get connections. As in this case, to the one who's in charge for archaeology at the Historical Museum of Basel.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Scaryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! O.o

And now off to meet my wonderful and lovely wife!

Thank all unholy and holy entities that ever have been, are and will be thought existing...
The Euro is finally over!
So the Spanish won and while I´m not really giving a fuck in the slightest, when it comes down to Spain vs. Germany I´m glad they did. They haven´t won in quite some time, it seems, and I´m at large just more inclined towards the Spanish than the Germans.

However, now we just have to get it over with the damn honking and yelling and then Basel can finally go back to it´s normal self... Or as "normal" as it ever is. O.o

O.O
We got money... We got freaking money!!!
We'll have as much money as we used to before I quit at the bank. No, wait, scratch that. We will have more since my sweetie has more work now and I have no deductions pulled off from my stipendium/scholarship as it is the case with salaries.

Gods this feels so GOOD!!!

When I took this new job I was so sure that they'd cut down on my stipendium since I'm earning about twice as much now but they won't. I'm still getting as much as I did during last school year! :D
No worries about how to pay food at the end of the month anymore! :DDD

*dancing to re-read letter again since I can't believe it*

And I still can't believe it... Probably won't till I see that whole bunch of money on my account. ^^'

These are so Noirin, especially the last two parts. I'm always amazed all over again whenever I hear this song.

...

Through the dreadful storms, across the frozen oceans
I have come from the dark lands with sorrow in my hands
The firewind rages in the sky
And my luminous sword hungers for more
I will leave no one alive
For I am the Slayer of Light

I... I will break your will
I... I will crush your faith
I... I will slay your dreams
I will reclaim the stars and I will tear your precious world apart
I will tear it apart

I will pull everything with me under the surface
And all the screams will fade into my dreams
Fall now! Dying light!
I will burn away the ground beneath your feet
And all will be vanished in the darkness
Dying light! Fall now!
And let the night arrive

(Ensiferum - Slayer of Light)

I really start liking that character more and more, and I'm not sure if that's good. The last thing I want is her ending up as a Sue or totally cliched or whatever... O.o

We got a bottle of mead! And a drinking-horn, which is as purty as the boys we were stalking with our camera all day!
Yup, we had a great day at Spectaculum (a medieval festival in Germany) yesterday. Now we really, really want to go to the next place that is close to us as well, or at least I do. ;p

And for those who like stuff like that (ren fairs, medieval festivals, etc.) and are either in Germany or might be going there at some point between April and September/October, here's a link:

http://www.spectaculum.de/
(Sadly all in German.)

I'm even being a good pimp here and am not mentioning that not everything was all historically correct. (I swear, sometimes I'm amazed that my wife is still willing to go with me to fairs/festivals and also movies like that. Must be a pain to have an archaeology student along. But I guess she knows that I'm enjoying it greatly, despite my random comments. ;p)

I'd post pics from yesterday but my sweetie took much better ones than I did (here for example; and she'll post more, too). That and I'm too busy (*cough*lazy*cough*) right now to go through all the tons we took (have I mentioned that there were preeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty guys with long hair, swords and skirts? - And my all lesbian wife likes looking at them just as much as I do. ;P), find some acceptable ones that were taken by me and re-size them.
